Generate Report - Income Statement - Profit & Loss Report
The Profit & Loss Report in your POS system provides a comprehensive analysis of your business's financial performance over a specified time period. This report includes graphical and tabular data for easy interpretation and decision-making.
1. Access the Report Section
- Navigate to the
Reportssection of your dashboard. - Select
Generate Reportfrom the list of available reports.
2. Define the Report Parameters:
- Category: Ensure that
Income Statementis selected as the category. - Report: Choose
Profit & Loss Reportfrom the report options. - Report Description: This report provides a graphical representation of total purchases, sales, inventory, and expenses for a specific accounting period to facilitate analysis for profits and losses. Additionally, it also provides a summary in tabular form with numerical data for further insight.
3. Set Date and Time Range
- In the
Start DateandEnd Datefields, specify the date range for the report. - Optionally, set specific times using the
Start TimeandEnd Timefields. - You may also use present options such as
Today,Yesterday,This Week,Last Week,This Month,Last Month,
This Year, orLast Yearfor convenience. - For a complete dataset, click
All.
4. Generate the Report
- After completing all selections, click the
Submitbutton. - The system will process your request and display the report data based on your selected criteria.
Understanding the Summary Report Layout
Once generated, the report will include the following sections:
Charts Section:
- Sales Breakdown: Displays total sales, profits, margins, and tax for the selected period compared to the previous p**eriod.
- Purchases Data: Compares total purchases for the current and past periods.
- Expenses Data: Graphical representation of expenses for the selected periods.
- Inventory Summary Details: Highlights total inventory, costs, and prices.
Use the See More option below any chart for a deeper breakdown. Once clicked, the following detailed columns will appear for the Sales and Inventory sections:
Sales Section:
- Sales
- Returns
- Refunds
- Surcharge
- G/P (Gross Profit)
- Margin
- Net Sales
- Tax
- Nicotine Ml Tax
- Cost of Goods Sold
- Grand Total
To exit this detailed view, click the red Close button, and you can switch to other sections.
Inventory Section:
- Total Inventory
- Total Cost
- Total Price
Use the See More option to view these details and analyze your inventory for the specified period.
Content Section
The content section provides a detailed summary, including:
- Total Sales
- Total Purchases
- Total Expenses
- Starting Inventory
- Ending Inventory
- Difference in Inventory
- Total Profit/Loss
Export and Print Options:
- Use the
Exportbutton to download the report in a Excel format. - Click
Printfor a hard copy. - Adjust visible columns to tailor the report to your needs using the
Columnsbutton.
